The 21st Annual Library Roll is happening Saturday, September 27. This is the main fundraiser for our library. We are so thankful for all the volunteers who have helped make this happen over the years. Special thanks to John & Kristin Lorson, who have been there since the first ride, marking the roads & designing our one-of-a-kind shirts. We are also thankful for the wonderful people who come from near & far to ride, enjoy our homemade rest stop goodies and amazing fry pies at the finish. It is always a sincere pleasure to see old friends return, and meet new friends. We hope to see you there!!

Sign Up NOW at the library, pick up your free bookbag & reading record, & starting keeping track of minutes you read (or are read to). For every 100 minutes, receive a prize! Young Writer’s Group: Fridays, 2-4 p.m. at the library, starting June 13. Young (el.-high school) writers are invited to “launch into their writing adventure with confidence and competence” through the Green Writer curriculum by S.D. Smith. Register by email: fredericksburglibrary@gmail.com

Let’s be honest, we at the library are missing the elementary school which stood a block away. We have great memories of all the students and classes who, for one reason or another, came to the library during the school hours. With the closing of the school and students now going to the new school campus, we were challenged to think of new ways to promote literacy, love for reading, and life-long learning, to think about what possibilities and opportunities maybe we hadn’t seen before. With the generous help of our township trustees and volunteers, we will soon open the Fredericksburg StoryWalk ® at the Fredericksburg Community Park, as well as the Bear Den Community Trail (formerly school Bear Den Land Lab) adjacent to the ball diamond. Our hope is that these will become places for families to enjoy together, spending time in beautiful surroundings, enjoying the sharing of a good story.

HOMEMADE SOUPS, BREAD, SALADS, DESSERTS, SERVING FROM 5-6:30 P.M., FOLLOWED BY CONCERT AT 7:00, AT FREDERICKSBURG PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 201 N. Mill St. Frederickburg, Oh. Free will offering, all proceeds go to the library.

FEATURING MUSIC BY HONEYTOWN BAND!!

It is never too early to introduce your child to books and reading. Research is showing that our children are behind on this fundamental building block for learning, and as parents, grandparents, and caregivers, you have the most important role in opening the wonderful world of reading to your child! We at the library are committed to doing everything we can to help.

STORYTIME for preschoolers will start Wednesday, September 18, 10 a.m. No signup is needed, just bring your child and be ready for a fun hour of stories, songs, art, and more!

The 20th Annual Library Roll Bicycle Tour happens Saturday, September 28!! Find details and downloadable registration form(sorry, checks only) by clicking on the tab above. Register early to reserve a specially designed long-sleeved t-shirt. Day-of registrations are fine, too, payable by cash, check, or credit card.

Our book club for Homeschool families will begin Friday, September 13, 10 a.m., at the library. Please bring your favorite book or story about animals or pets. See you there!
