The Fredericksburg Community Library opened in 1998, the result of the hopes, dreams, and hard work of people in the Fredericksburg community. It is an independent library, completely staffed by volunteers who believe in the library as an invaluable place in the community. The financial support of individuals, businesses, and organizations, as well as grants, make this place possible. We hope you stop in to see us soon!

It was so nice talking to you guys Thursday evening! Such a cute little library. I was very impressed with all the support you get from your community and your wonderful volunteers that keep you going! Stop in to see us sometime when you are traveling this way!
Thanks, Diane! We are glad you enjoyed your visit.
I know the late Eli H. Bowman was a member of your community. I am trying to locate some photos he published in Mt. Hope, A Pictorial History. Is there any chance those materials were given to the library following his death?
Do you have information on the old Fredericksburg Academy?
The Fredericksburg High School Academy was established in 1852 “being established and taught by Basil C. Smith during the years 1852-1866.B.C. Smith came to Fredericksburg in 1822, & was educated in Edinburg, Hayesville, and Oberlin. It was closed in 1866 when the professor’s health failed.
I am sorry, but no, we did not receive those materials. If you do find them, we would be glad for copies of any information you have about him.
